Mayor's visit to the newly created Roman Gardens, Aldborough.

Mayor, Cllr Pauline Phillips and her consort were kindly invited to visit the newly opened Roman Gardens in Aldborough. Steven Beck, a member of the Friends of Roman Aldborough kindly donated a bench for the garden. A dedicated group of volunteers are creating the garden at the site. Visitors can now see plants the Romans introduced into Britain, including a wide range of vegetables and herbs that were used for medicinal purposes. Read More...

DATE CHANGE: NOW TUESDAY 1st OCTOBER 2024 A Coordinator for the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit is hosting another of the popular ’Ask the Experts’ evening to support students and their parents, advising on the types of scams currently in use, how to spot them and how to stay safe including advice on how to protect yourself online. As usual there will be the opportunity to ask questions of a panel of experts. This event will be conducted using Microsoft Teams via an emailed a link prior to the date. At the Annual Meeting on 7th May 2024 the mayor making process installed a new Mayor for Boroughbridge Town Council. Cllr Hynes stepped down as mayor and a new mayor was elected. A vote of thanks from the council was given to Cllr Hynes for the commitment and hard work he has given to the town as mayor from 2022. The Deputy Mayor was also elected. The repeated flooding of the highway and pavement at the bottom of New Row has been a matter the town council have been pursuing for months, frustratingly with slow progress achieved. North Yorkshire Council Highways and Yorkshire Water have disagreed about the cause of the flooding, and disagreed over the maintenance of the assets that have led to the flooding.
