Flood Warning- Friday 20.10.23.
Published: 20 October 2023
We are keeping a close eye on the river levels as storm Babet takes hold across the country.
The predicted peak level for the River Ure is expected to be 15m above sea level at approximately 5pm on Saturday 21st October.
We are in close contact with the emergency agencies at Silver Command. If the level reaches above 15m, flooding will occur at the Milby side of the bridge.
Please be aware and respect any road closures put in place. Driving through the waters causes unnecessary flooding in people's homes due to the bow wave caused by your vehicle. Plus the power of water can lift manhole and grate covers as well as lifting the road surface. This could seriously damage your vehicle . It is also an offence and will invalidate your insurance.
Please head the warnings which are designed to ensure safety and limit potential damage.
