The New MUGA at Boroughbridge Recreation Ground is open!

Published: 17 September 2024

The town council and especially the mayor Cllr Pauline Phillips and her consort Cllr Peter Phillips, are very pleased to have officially opened the new play space or MUGA, at the Recreation ground. The whole project has been paid for from Commuted Sums monies accrued when new house building developments have been completed and residents have moved into them. The MUGA has painted markings for different court games and has a high fence surrounding it to keep game play as safe as possible. It provides open access for wheel chair users and has goal hoops for basketball or netball.

The mayor said she was very happy that the young people of Boroughbridge now have this new play space and hopes it will provide a good facility that will encourage more safe active play, sports and games opportunities to promote good healthy life styles and most importantly create fun and enjoyment for anyone who uses it.

If you have not visited it yet why not go along and take a look!
