WEATHER WARNINGS 17th July 2025

Published: 18 July 2025

There are several unsettled, muggy days ahead across Yorkshire and the Humber region, as slow-moving heavy showers and thunderstorms develop in the heat of the strong summer sunshine and some warm muggy nights too.

There is currently a Yellow Warning of Thunderstorms in force valid 1100 to 2000 tonight with a HIGH likelihood of low impacts across the whole of our region.

The Yellow Warning of Thunderstorms issued yesterday is now valid from midnight tonight until 20:00 on Saturday with a low likelihood of MEDIUM impacts currently covering the whole of our region. It is worth emphasising that there is the potential for the rain to be torrential in places with 20-30mm in less than an hour and 60 to 90 mm in 2-3 hours possible in a few spots.

The unsettled nature of our weather will continue well into next week with something potentially more settled on Thursday and Friday next week.”
