First settled in Roman times, Boroughbridge is a centre for the history, scenic beauty, attractive villages, and leisure activities of North Yorkshire.
Adjacent to the A1M in North Yorkshire on the banks of the River Ure, yet just 2 minutes from junctions 48 & 49, Boroughbridge is an ancient and attractive market town with many attractions and amenities.

Visitors to the area will find Boroughbridge is ideally located as a centre for many local and regional attractions many of which can be found within a few minutes of the town centre itself.

New Lights on the Fountain in Boroughbridge.

Boroughbridge Town Council has invested in replacement tree lighting on St James Square. Mayor Cllr Zoe Metcalfe commented: "This investment will deliver cost savings. Furthermore, rather than being loosely strung through the trees, the lights have been safely and securely wrapped around the branches. I would like to extend a huge thank you to Cllr Jamie McNeil for organising this initiative." Read More...
