Boroughbridge Police Safer Neighbourhood Team
Our local police force has recently created a ‘Safer Neighbourhood Team’ for Boroughbridge. The plan is to deliver modern policing in a traditional way thereby making our community safer and stronger. Community First Responders
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service is looking for volunteers to become Community First Responders and help save lives in Boroughbridge.
A Community responder is a volunteer who is trained to respond to certain emergency calls in their local community.  These may include cardiac arrest, chest pain and breathing difficulties.  A responder will provide emergency car until an ambulance crew arrives.  Responders have received training in basic life support and are equipped with a first aid bag, defibrillator and oxygen.

Mentoring Volunteers Required at Boroughbridge High School
Boroughbridge High are very keen to get a good mentoring program going to support a number of students, their aim for mentoring is to provide support for students in moving on to Higher Education / Employment and helping them to focus on future plans and awareness of life outside of school. Mentoring is all about providing positive role models to support, motivate and encourage people. Funding For Youth Groups
North Yorkshire Youth and North Yorkshire County Council have launched a new project to provide support, funding and advice to all those VOLUNTARY youth groups/clubs/projects across the county.
If you are involved with a youth club/group/project in our community run by volunteers (parents, parish councillors etc) or you would like to set up a youth club/group/project as volunteers, then you may qualify for assistance from this new scheme.
Additionally, they have some ‘Young Money’ (part of the Youth Opportunity Fund) that is now available for young people to apply for.

Harrogate Borough Council Community Chest launched
The HBC community chest will run between September 2007 and August 2008 The purpose of the Community Chest is to strengthen small voluntary organisations, charities and community groups in the District and/or to provide support for activities/projects that will benefit local communities within the Harrogate District. Grants range from £500 to £5000 and applications are welcome from voluntary organisations, charities and community groups based in and serving the community of the Harrogate District.  Follow this link for more information: www.harrogate.gov.uk/voluntary.
