Horticultural Society

fruit and plants.
We cater for a range of enthusiasts from absolute beginners through to the keen

The society holds 3 main shows per year usually on the last Friday in July, August
and September. In all, 20 trophies are awarded over 82 classes which gives many
people a chance of some success. The venue is Boroughbridge Social Club on Fishergate
and at the end of the show most of the produce is available for sale to the public.
A popular Pumpkin show is held in October at the same venue and this is put on
jointly with Boroughbridge Social Club and all proceeds go to a local charity.
The AGM is held in November of each year and is open to anyone with an interest
in horticulture. The society also occasionally organises trips to relevant events
and is open to suggestions for ideas for educational evenings.
