Ripon Fly Fishers
Ripon Fly Fishers was formed over 30 years ago and the club has promoted it's
art ever since. The club is renowned for its warm comradeship and sportsmanship
and its members come from all walks of life from around the Boroughbridge and
Ripon area but also from as far a field as York and Leeds.

The Club has four trout lakes which are in idyllic surroundings and are all well
stocked with brown, blue, golden and rainbow trout from stock fish to fish in
double figues. Members may take up to 2 fish (under 3 lb) per week any larger
remain as sport fish.
Two of the lakes are designed for easy access with parking close to the lake
and the access to the fishing platforms is on the flat, which is ideal for those
who can not walk large distances.
The club also has 2 course lakes stocked with 3 species of carp, tench, roach,
perch and chub and one pike lake situated all in one venue. This venue is ideal
for members with young children or grand children.

The Club places emphasis on its members to get involved as much as possible (if
the want too) in the running of the club, from working parties at the lakes and
in the winter months, the odd club evening.
The Ripon Fly Fishers has a limit of 70 members and at present has a limited
number of vacancies. It does not matter whether you are an expert or just a novice;
there is always a friendly word of advice from other members to help improve the
art of Fly Fishing.
Fishing is all year round on all but one venue where that is closed for the shooting
season.
Annual subscriptions are approximately:- £180 (2005 season) with an initial
joining fee of £60.
