Junior Youth Club

Community Youth Action Group

The Youfi

We are a voluntary organisation founded in October 2001 working with young people from 9 to 13 years of age ( Years 5, 6, & 7 ). An age group not often catered for by the paid sector. We believe in a pro-active approach to working with young people, enforcing the belief that prevention is better than cure. Our staff team has over 80 years of qualified youth work experience at it’s disposal and are police cleared.

The group meets every 1st, 3rd, & 4th Thursday’s and 2nd Friday of each month from 7-9pm ( school term time only ) in the Methodist Church Hall on Horsefair, Boroughbridge.
There is no waiting list and no membership fee, just 50p per session. Parents are asked to complete a simple consent form that validates our insurances through Youth Clubs UK. The young people attending can participate as much or as little as they wish. Activities include - pool, play station, shinty, team games, music, dance, art & crafts etc. All activities help to promote and encourage:
  • Increasing self esteem
  • Increasing self awareness
  • Increasing self confidence
  • Improving communication skills
  • Improving relationship skills
  • Improving social skills
  • Combating bullying
We are an organisation that DELIVERS and has commitment to young people. We involve the community and Parents. We believe that ALL young people, not just those “at risk” deserve the opportunity to participate in fun activities under a carefully structured programme, thus enabling them to make informed choices to become a “model young citizens”. Our aim is to prevent young people becoming part of “the at risk groups”.
