Primary School

Boroughbridge Community Primary School

The school is situated in substantial grounds on the town's outskirts on York Road.

The spacious accommodation includes 8 class bases with joint activity areas, library, two halls (one equipped as a gymnasium), kitchen, staffroom, school office and Headteacher's room.  There is an extensive sports field with playgrounds and wildlife areas and a small outdoor heated swimming pool on the site.  There is also Stepping Stones Nursery which provides full day care for children from 3 months old as well as wrap around care for children in the school nursery and before and after school care.

The main school has about 200 children on roll. In addition to this there is a 26 place nursery unit which is housed in the newly developed Little Oaks Foundation Stage Unit.  Children are admitted to the nursery unit on a part-time basis at the age of three, and enter the main school as rising-fives. At the age of eleven, children normally transfer to secondary school.

The school is very well supported by the local community.  Parents particularly are welcomed into school, and their help is encouraged and valued.  There is a thriving Parent-Teachers' Association and parents are actively involved in fundraising.  It is through their help that the school has managed to provide a computer suite and new staging facilities for the numerous productions that take place during the school year.

Give us your best

We aim to ensure that our school is a happy place where children learn respect for each other and their surroundings. Every child is given the opportunity to be successful through a broad balanced curriculum.  We are committed to helping our children become independent learners who are self-motivated and find learning rewarding, interesting and fun. They are encouraged to aim high, to give their best and to be proud of their progress and their achievements.  In a calm and caring disciplined environment they are taught to be responsible and well behaved.  It is our aim that children grow to be confident and cheerful adults who have the capacity to be adaptable and creative in an ever changing world.  We aim to provide quality in all we do.  We are committed to working in partnership with parents and the wider community to create a school of which Boroughbridge can justifiably be proud.
