Croquet Club
Anyone for croquet?
The newly-formed Croquet Club at nearby Bishop Monkton is nearing the close of its successful and enjoyable first season, with the 25 members having been playing several times a week on the two full size lawns.
Now firmly established, the club is keen to increase its membership by widening
its intake of members to include nearby villages, including Boroughbridge.
For a start, they are inviting anyone in Boroughbridge area who is interested
in the game, either a beginner or experienced player, to come over for one of
two FREE introductionary sessions later this month or in the first half of October. Free
tuition is also available if requested.
Anyone interested in taking up this offer should contact Richard Field (677795),
John Hague (677276) or Pauline Houseman (677693).
John Hague (677276) or Pauline Houseman (677693).
It is, in fact, rare for a village to have its own croquet club and since Bishop
Monkton is so near,
this could be good news for local croquet enthusiasts!
For those who enjoy their try out round, there are currently vacancies for the
2009 season.
