DISHFORTH PARISH COUNCIL - Vacancy for Parish Clerk
A vacancy has arisen for a replacement Responsible Financial Officer / Parish Clerk with effect from the 1st April, 2010.
Duties are varied but briefly include acting as an adviser to the Parish Council, the production of Agendas for and taking the Minutes of the Parish Council Meetings which are held on a monthly basis, dealing with correspondence, arranging for the maintenance of the grass verges within the Village, the maintenance of the Common and the Green, responsibility for the financial records, liaising with the Internal Auditor and producing the Annual Accounts for Audit.

Alzheimer's Society Volunteers
Could you help a person with dementia to enjoy life more? The Alzheimer's Society
is seeking volunteers for a new Befriending Service across the Harrogate and Ripon
District. The Service seeks to help people with dementia to maintain a social
life and to follow a hobby or interest for as long as they wish or are able to
do so. Volunteers and clients are matched according to interests and geographical
location. Initial training, ongoing support and development are provided for volunteers,
with any agreed out-of-pocket expenses including travel costs, being reimbursed.

Community First Responders
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service is looking for volunteers to become Community
First Responders and help save lives in Boroughbridge.
A Community responder is a volunteer who is trained to respond to certain emergency
calls in their local community. These may include cardiac arrest, chest pain
and breathing difficulties. A responder will provide emergency car until an ambulance
crew arrives. Responders have received training in basic life support and are
equipped with a first aid bag, defibrillator and oxygen.

North Yorkshire Fire Service Retained Firefighter applications are invited from men and women who live or
work in the Boroughbridge Area (West Area) and are interested in becoming part-time
Firefighters. They are particularly keen to recruit people who can primarily provide
daytime and weekend cover. Applicants must be pnysically fit and be able to respond
to one of the Fire Stations within four minutes. Average earning potential of
up to £100 per week for attending call-outs and 2 hours training each week, you
will receive 4 weeks paid holiday and a final salary Pension Scheme is also available.
