Yore Vision is the successor to the Renaissance Market Town Team - a community organisation for Boroughbridge and the Lower Ure Valley , whose mission statement is:

 

Yore Vision has a central management team, made up of individual volunteers, which is responsible for finance and planning and co-coordinating the work of the Project Groups.

Projects are determined by public interest and a survey conducted by consultants for the Renaissance Market Town Team.  Some are short term, such as tree planting – other large projects will take several years. The aim is to improve the local area for the benefit of residents and visitors

Project groups are made up of interested individuals and partners such as Boroughbridge Council, Parish Councils, Harrogate Borough Council, the Chamber of Trade, local businesses and until recently Yorkshire Forward. Yore Vision needs all sorts of help and expertise and volunteers decide how much time they can give to a project.

The projects Yore Vision is currently working on are:

Yore Vision has developed a series of award winning Ure Walks Through Time and is working on a series of cycle rides in the area. The most recent activity was a Family Cycle Day, combining safety training, bike maintenance and a cycle ride which attracted over 200 riders.

Through the Initiative Fund Yore Vision helps local organisations to fund their projects and sponsors local events such as the Yore Vision Cricket Festival and the Come and Sing Messiah.
