The Boroughbridge Oxfam shop is one more than 750 shops across the UK which is
set up to alleviate poverty and suffering around the world. The shop stocks a
wide range of quality goods that are donated by members of the public, ranging
from ladies’, men’s and children’s clothes, books, china, glassware, antiques,
music, DVDs and videos. We also have a fine range of new cards for all occasions
and Christmas cards in season.
A dedicated core of volunteers sorts these donations. However, due to holidays,
relocation and illness we urgently need new volunteers to help in the shop. The
work involved is varied and can be tailored to meet the needs of a wide range
of volunteers. Students seeking work experience, local residents wanting to get out and meet new people to retired professionals wishing make use of their skills in a valuable and rewarding way.
If you think you may be interested in volunteering for Oxfam, drop into the shop
for further information and an application form, telephone or contact me on my
e-mail address. I very much look forward to hearing from you.
