about boroughbridge and district community care

Boroughbridge & District Community Care (BCC) became a registered Charity in 1994 and was established to help the disadvantaged and disabled members of our community regardless of age, for the advancement of education and the promotion of other charitable purposes for the benefit of the community.

BCC work with local authorities, other voluntary and statutory organisations to provide social welfare, transportation, recreation and an information and advice service with the object of improving the conditions of life for local residents.

Our funding…

At the moment, BCC receives limited funding from North Yorkshire County Council to carry out the work outlined in this leaflet. The shortfall in its finances is made up from various fundraising events, donations from local residents and businesses as well as a monthly lottery draw. Please contact the office if you would like more information on our fundraising activities, of you would like to join our 100+ Club, or if you would like to make a donation, for which we can claim gift aid if you are a taxpayer, or consider giving us a bequest, or legacy, in your will.

If you need help…

Anyone can obtain help from BCC. Most clients are referred by either the local doctors or North Yorkshire County Council Health & Social Care departments, however, individuals can ask for help or refer anyone to us who they think could benefit from our services.

Becoming one of our volunteers…

No experience is required nor is there any age barrier to become a volunteer. If you are interested in helping in your local community, or want more information, please contact the BCC office.
